TetraSki won't switch between beginner and advanced modes
The TetraSki will only switch between beginner and advanced mode when in a neutral joystick position with no current sip-n-puff or remote input detected. Certain situations can cause false inputs that will prevent difficulty mode changes. These will usually also cause a lack of sip-n-puff or joystick control, which is a good starting point when diagnosing issues.
Check that the sip-and-puff line isn’t frozen or pinched. See Sip-n-puff not working properly for more info.
Make sure the skier is hands-off the joystick and that it’s free and clear from anything that could be affecting the joystick position.
Make sure the remote thumbstick is neutral/untouched and remote signals aren’t affecting the ski. If in doubt, turn the remote off and try again. See Remote control intermittent response/disconnection for more info.
Inspect the joystick post and spring response to make sure it isn’t damaged. The post can get bent due to excessive torque applied with some of the longer joysticks, and this prevents a proper center-return-action of the internal spring.
If suspected, place the ski in debug mode by rapidly pressing the power button five times, and inspect the JoyX and JoyY values. They should always read ‘0’ with the joystick untouched.
If damage has occurred to the joystick post, contact Tetradapt support for assistance.
